Formed in 1988 by high school chums Tom Larkin and Jon Toogood, Shihad began playing in their home town of Wellington, New Zealand, rapidly becoming one of the cities most popular acts. By 1990 Shihad had really hit their stride. Management was picked up by Gerald Dwyer... former front man of local punk legends Flesh-D-Vice. Sold out national tours and support slots with bands such as Faith No More and Motorhead followed.
