The recording industry has been in transition, moving away from mandatory copy-protection on downloads to "DRM-Free", where music can be offered in formats like MP3 with no technical restrictions on personal use. Digirama has approval from all major labels to offer music in MP3 and the vast majority of our catalogue is already MP3. We're in the process of updating our back catalogue and hope to be 100% MP3 very soon.

For music that is not yet DRM-Free we use the Windows Media Audio (WMA) format with copy-protection from Microsoft called PlaysForSure. This format is used by many legal download stores around the world, but it doesn't have the broad support of MP3 and is not directly compatible with iPods.

You can re-download music originally purchased in WMA/PlaysForSure format in MP3 (as available) at no extra cost.
